For the month of April, the Orb Store has proudly donated $165 on behalf of our guest, Jennifer McMahon, to The Ride to Conquer Cancer.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a history-making opportunity for you to do something big about cancer, something epic. Like cycling for two days from Vancouver to Seattle on June 20 and 21, 2009. Sure, it sounds like a lot… and it’s meant to be. The conquest of cancer is a monumental task and won’t be easy. But make no mistake, this event isn’t just for athletes or cycling enthusiasts. For the month of November, the Orb Store took part in raising money and awareness for breast cancer (as October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month).  Our guest, April Chen, chose to donate her gift of giving to BC Children's Hospital and the store will also be donating to the same cause!

Orb and the Flagship Orb Store on West 4th are throwing their first ever customer appreciation party and charity fundraiser.

Saturday Night December 6th we close the doors and transform the store to have a dance floor and DJ, Fashion Show and Customer Appreciation party.

In keeping with the ORB spirit of giving back to the community we are also working with the United Way to make this unique event a fundraiser for the United WaysVancouver homeless program.

To make the evening fun, the first 100 ORB fans through the door receive a Swag Bag filled with lots of goodies. Value in excess of $100!

There is also a dance floor and DJ in our upstairs loft along with a wine and beer bar. Profits from the bar go to the charity. The event is open to all ages but you must be 19 to drink.

During the night we will also be previewing some of our new ORB styles with an in store ORB Girl Fashion Show. If you’d like to be an ORB model go to the ORB Girl Search Event on this site and sign in.

Entry is by donation with all monies going towards the charity. There is also a 50/50 draw being held throughout the evening, winner takes 50% of the proceeds, the other 50% goes to the United Way.

*** Update- The Orb Store donated over $500 to the Vancouver Food Bank following our “Summer of Love” event where guests made a donation for a grab bag to win all sorts of great prizes.

What do women's clothing and the AfricaBike have in common? Well for starters, the more clothing one Vancouver-based store sells in August means more AfricaBikes.

The Orb women's clothing store recently announced that they will donate one-percent of their August profits to the Biketown Africa program. Located in downtown Vancouver, Orb will donate a minimum of three AfricaBikes. Supporting unique, humanitarian and global projects is something the folks at Orb are quite familiar with as they have supported more than 17 causes in the past.

***Update- Our Kona Africa Bike program will be donating $850.00 to send bikes to Africa for local health care workers to deliver much needed medicine and assistance to aids patients in tiny villages all over the country.

The Art of Giving took place at the Orb Store on Thursday June 26. The inaugural event played host to a strong turn out of friends, family and Orb Store guests.

Seven local artists displayed their paintings and photographs and a total of thirty pieces were available for silent auction on the mezzanine level of the store.

The successful bidding guests were given the opportunity to donate 20% of the price of their purchased piece to a charity of their choice. Over $600 was raised for a variety of important causes.

Orb is grateful to all the artists, staff, friends, family and guests that made the event a great success!

Orb Celebrates the Gift of Giving with First-Ever Hoody Swap Charity Clothing Drive

On Saturday, April 12 hundreds of enthusiastic Vancouverites got up early and lined-up around the block to donate gently worn clothing to Kitsilano Neighbourhood House. The first 100 people through the door received a free brand new special addition Orb Hoody in exchange, and everyone who contributed made a positive difference in the lives of people at Steeves Manor. Shoppers were treated to an intimate concert by Universal recording artist and Orb Girl, Hayley Sales, who performed tracks from her album Sunseed, and debuted a song just written on her recent world tour. Everyone who visited the store during the grand opening weekend received an Empowered Card treating them to 10% savings on Orb and Arson Girl at the store for one full year, plus we invite their input on Orb designs and encourage them to update us on the amazing ways they’ve been empowered to make a difference in their lives.
